BANANA NUT BREAD 
1 c. sugar
3 tbsp. shortening
1 egg
1/2 c. sour milk or sour cream
2 c. flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
3/4 c. bananas
chopped nuts

Cream shortening and sugar. Add sour cream, flour, baking powder, soda and salt; mix well. Mash 3/4 cup bananas and add to batter and chopped nuts.

Bake for about 45 minutes at 350°F.

Makes 2 loaves in 5 x 3 x 2-inch pans.
