TEXAS BISCUITS 
4 c. flour
2/3 c. Crisco
3/4 c. buttermilk
3/4 c. milk
2 tbsp. sugar
1 tsp. salt
2 tsp. baking powder
1 cake yeast

Dissolve yeast in 1/4 cup warm water. Mix flour and Crisco. Put the yeast and water in last, after adding all dry ingredients and milk. Mix well and put in a covered dish and refrigerate. Pinch off as needed. Let dough rise one hour and bake at 350 degrees.

When you roll out biscuits put one biscuit on top of another biscuit with a pat of butter in between. This makes a nice tall biscuit.
