2 sticks butter
2 c. sugar
2 whole eggs, lg.
2 egg yolks
1 c. buttermilk
3/4 tsp. baking soda
2 1/2 c. flour (plain)
2 tsp. vanilla

Cream butter and sugar until fluffy. Add eggs, one at a time, beating after each. Mix soda in buttermilk and add with flour to batter. Add flavoring. Bake at 350 degrees until done. Frost with any good frosting.
