BAKED BEEF STEW 
4-6 lb. beef cubes
3 onions, sliced
3 lg. stalks of celery, sliced
14 carrots, sliced
5 tsp. salt
1/4 c. sugar
1/2 c. tapioca
2 c. tomato juice
6 lg. potatoes, diced

Place meat in large roasting pan. Add vegetables. Mix salt, sugar, and tapioca with tomato juice. Pour over meat and vegetables. Cover pan with heavy duty foil. Crimp the edges. Bake at 250 degrees for 5 hours. Uncover midway and stir.
