KRAUT BALLS 
3 lb. lean ground beef
1/2 lb. sausage
1/2 lb. uncooked rice (not Minute rice)
1 lg. can sauerkraut
Salt and pepper to taste

In large bowl, mix sausage, ground beef, rice, salt and pepper. Make out into about 4-inch balls.

In large pot, put layer of sauerkraut; layer of balls until full; then cover meatballs with water. Cook on medium-low heat for about 1 1/2 hours. Turn meatballs gently occasionally while cooking. Makes about 10 meatballs.
