HOMEMADE CLAY 
1 c. flour
1/2 c. salt
1 tsp. cream of tartar

Add:

1 c. water
1 tbsp. oil
Few drops food coloring

Cook over medium heat until thick. Store in tightly closed container. Remains fresh and soft for months.
