QUICK CHOCOLATE BRITTLE | |
1/2 cup raw peanuts 3/4 cup packed brown sugar 1/2 cup (1 stick) butter 1 (6 oz.) pkg. semi-sweet morsels Lightly grease 9-inch square pan. Sprinkle peanuts into pan and set aside. Combine brown sugar and butter in medium saucepan. Cook over low heat, stirring constantly, until mixture reaches 270°F on candy thermometer. Immediately pour over peanuts in pan. Sprinkle chocolate morsels over top. Cover with aluminum foil for 2 minutes. Remove foil and spread melted chocolate over top. Chill in refrigerator until firm. Remove candy from pan and break into pieces. Cooks Note: Use of a candy thermometer is recommended. Submitted by: Liz Kelley |
