ENGLISH ICE BOX TOFFEE | |
1 stick butter 2 c. powdered sugar 2 tbsp. cocoa 1/2 tsp. salt 2 egg yolks 1 tsp. vanilla 1 c. pecan pieces 2 egg whites 1 3/4 c. vanilla wafer crumbs Cream butter and sugar. Add cocoa, salt, yolks and vanilla. Roast pecans in 1/4 stick butter about 30 minutes. Add to creamed mixture while slightly warm. Beat whites until stiff and fold into creamed mixture. Line pan with 1/2 crumbs and pour mixture in and cover with remaining crumbs. Chill and serve with whipped cream. |
