CHICKEN AND DRESSING CASSEROLE | |
1 whole chicken fryer Salt Garlic powder 1 onion 1 pkg. Stove Top dressing 1 can of cream of chicken soup Boil 1 chicken fryer (don't cover with water), just about halfway and cover pot. (I cut the chicken in 1/4 as it makes it easier to pull apart.) It takes about 45 minutes to cook. I use salt and garlic powder in the water and also I cut up an onion. Then make up a package of Stove Top dressing. When you chicken is cooked, remove it from broth, save broth, cool and then cut up into bite size chunks. Grease casserole dish with butter place a layer of dressing and then some chicken. Pour a can of cream of chicken soup which has been diluted with a half can of your chicken broth over this, then reserve the last half of soup. When you layer the rest of dressing and chicken, you can also add button mushrooms if you desired. Bake at 350 degrees about 1/2 hour. |
