4 c. flour
2 c. sugar
1 c. butter
1 c. Brer Rabbit molasses ( I use light-mild flavored)
2 tsp. baking soda
2 c. boiling water
Shake of salt

Crumb together first 3 ingredients; save 1 cup for top. Mix rest of ingredients in separate bowl. Add mixture to the crumbs. Mix well. batter will be thin. Pour into greased 9 x 13 pan. Spread crumbs (1 cup) to top. Bake at 350 degrees for 30-40 minutes.
