SHOO FLY CAKE | |
4 c. flour 1 c. butter 1 c. molasses 2 c. boiling water 1 lb. (2 1/2 c.) brown sugar 2 tsp. baking soda Combine sugar, flour and butter. Reserve 1 1/2 cups of this crumb mixture to sprinkle on top. Mix baking soda in boiling water, then add molasses. Stir this liquid into crumbs made from flour and sugar and butter. Pour batter into lightly greased 9 x 13 inch pan. Sprinkle 1 1/2 cups reserved crumbs on top of batter. Bake at 350 degrees for 50 minutes. |
