4 c. flour
1 c. butter
2 c. sugar
1 c. molasses
2 c. water
1 tsp. baking soda dissolved in 3 tbsp. hot water

Mix flour, butter, sugar - SAVE OUT 1 cup for topping!! Add molasses, water, soda to the rest of the mixture. Mix by hand and place in a greased 13x9 inch pan. Sprinkle (saved cup of topping) on top. Bake for 45 minutes at 350 degrees.
