ORANGE SLICE CAKE 
1 c. butter
2 c. sugar
4 eggs
3 1/2 c. flour (plain)
1 c. raisins
1/2 c. buttermilk with 1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 lb. orange slice candy
7 to 8 oz. dates, cut into small pieces
1 c. coconut
2 c. pecans

Cream butter, add sugar; cream, add eggs - add alternately 2 1/2 cups flour and milk. Use remaining cup of flour to chopped orange slice candy. Add candy and flour, dates, raisins, coconut and pecans to batter. Bake at 250 degrees for 2 1/2 hours.

Dissolve 2 cups powdered sugar in 1 cup orange juice. Pour it over cake when it comes out of oven. Let stand in pan overnight.
