BATTER FOR FRYING 
Fish, shrimp, fritters, zucchini slices, mushrooms, banana, apple ham, onion rings, etc.
1 c. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1 egg
1 c. milk
1/4 c. oil

If using self-rising flour, omit baking powder and salt.

Heat oil 2 to 3 inches to 375 degrees. Beat ingredients for batter. Coat food with flour. Dip into batter and fry in hot oil until brown. Drain.
