AMISH SUGAR-CREAM PIE 
1/4 cup cornstarch
1 cup sugar
2 cups milk
1/2 cup (1 stick) butter
1 tsp. vanilla

Mix cornstarch and sugar. Add milk and cook until thick. When thick, add butter and vanilla. Mix well. Pour into partially baked pie shell and sprinkle with nutmeg. Bake at 350°F to 375°F for 10 to 15 minutes or until it starts to bubble.
