BLACK BEAN SOUP 
1 lb. black beans
Bacon
1/2 c. onion, chopped
1/2 c. celery, sliced
1/2 c. carrot, sliced
1 tbsp. garlic
1 bay leaf
1 tsp. thyme
2 tbsp. cumin
1/2 tsp. oregano
10 c. chicken broth
Lime juice

Black beans - cleaned, picked over and soaked overnight in 2 quarts water.

Combine drained beans with remaining ingredients, except lime juice. Simmer until tender. I puree at least half of the beans. Add lime juice.
