PASTA WITH ASPARAGUS 
2 lbs. fresh asparagus, cut into 1 inch pieces
1 lb. thin spaghetti
8 slices bacon, cut into 1 inch pieces
1/2 c. chopped green onions
1/2 tsp. pepper
1/4 c. butter, softened
1/2 c. half and half
1/2 to 3/4 c. grated Parmesan cheese

Cook asparagus in boiling water for 3 minutes; drain. Cook spaghetti using package directions; drain. Fry bacon in large skillet until crisp; drain. Saute onion in bacon drippings until soft. Add pepper and asparagus. Heat until warmed through. Toss spaghetti, asparagus, green onions, bacon, half and half, and Parmesan cheese together in large serving bowl. Serve immediately. May substitute broccoli for asparagus.
