ENGLISH TEA BREAD 
1/3 c. butter
2/3 c. sugar
2 eggs
1 3/4 c. flour
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
2/3 c. walnuts, chopped
1/3 c. citron, chopped
2/3 c. raisins
1/4 tsp. salt
2/3 c. milk

Cream butter and sugar, add egg yolks, one at a time and beat well after each addition. Add raisins, nuts and citron. Sift and measure flour. Sift again three times with baking powder and salt. Add flour to batter alternately with milk. Fold in stiffly beaten egg whites. Bake in greased and floured loaf pan at 350 degrees for 60 to 70 minutes.
