CANNED STRING BEANS | |
1 peck string beans (after broken up) 1 c. sugar 1/2 c. salt 1/2 c. vinegar Put string beans in a cooking pot and add the other ingredients. Add enough water to come to the top of the string beans. Cook for 30-35 minutes. Fill jars with string beans and water mixture until full. Seal at once. When opening a jar, drain the vinegar water off and add water and a small piece of cooking meat to the string beans. Cook until water is gone. |
