LEMON POUND CAKE 
3 c. sugar
1/2 c. shortening
1/2 lb. butter
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
3 c. plain flour
5 eggs
1 c. milk
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tbsp. lemon flavoring

Cream sugar, shortening, and butter. Add eggs one at a time and beat well after each. Sift dry ingredients. Add milk and dry ingredients alternately. Beat well and add flavorings last. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 1/2 hours or until tests done.

ICING:

1 box powdered sugar
3 oz. cream cheese
1/2 stick butter
1 tbsp. lemon flavoring

Mix together and add enough milk to spread.
