PASTIES WITH HOT WATER PASTRY 
2 sticks butter
3 c. flour
1 tsp. salt
1 c. hot water
1 tsp. baking powder

Melt butter in hot water. Add dry ingredients. Mix to a soft dough. Refrigerate several hours or overnight.

FILLING:

5 or 6 potatoes
1 med. rutabaga (opt.)
3-5 carrots
2 lbs. ground beef
2 med. onions
Salt & pepper to taste
