HERMAN STARTER 
1 c. flour
1 c. milk
1/2 c. sugar
1/2 pkg. yeast

Warm milk enough to take the chill off. Mix flour, milk and sugar and yeast. Mix well and refrigerate overnight before using. Every fifth day, you must add a feeding.

FEEDING:

1/2 c. sugar
1 c. flour
1 c. milk

Mix well into your Herman. On the day you get your Herman, give it a "feeding." You must stir Herman everyday. Important that you remember to stir Herman everyday, or he might "escape" from you). On the fifth day, feed again. Bake on the 10th day.
