1/2 c. butter or shortening
1 c. sugar
2 eggs, beaten
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. flour
1 tsp. vanilla

Cream sugar and butter. Add eggs. Sift dry ingredients together and add to dry mixture. Add vanilla. Roll to 1/2 inch thickness. Cut and bake until light brown in moderate 350 degree oven.
