1 c. sugar
1/2 c. butter or Crisco
1 c. sour milk
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. cloves
2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. nutmeg
1 c. butternuts, chopped
1/2 c. raisins
1 tsp. salt

Mix sugar and butter then add sour milk. Mix flour and spices, soda and salt. Add to the above. Add rest of ingredients and mix well. Makes an 8"x8" pan. Bake until toothpick comes out clean.
