PREACHER'S PIE 
1 1/2 c. flour
3/4 c. shortening
3/4 c. brown sugar
2 tbsp. white sugar
Cinnamon
6 med. sliced apples

Crumble flour, shortening and brown sugar with fingers. Press half of this mixture into bottom of 9 inch pie pan and on sides. Reserve remaining crumb mixture to be put on top of apples. Peel and quarter apples, laying them on crumb mixture.

In pie tin and making quarters overlap each other. Sprinkle white sugar and generous amount of cinnamon over apples. Press remaining crumb mixture over apples and bake in a moderate oven (350 degrees) until apples are tender, about 30 minutes. Serve hot with whipped or ice cream.
