PREACHER'S STEW 
10 potatoes, peeled and sliced thin
5 carrots, peeled and sliced thin
2 pkg. frozen peas
2 lbs. hamburger
1 lg. chopped onion
1 can tomato soup

Butter large casserole dish. Place potatoes in casserole dish, salt and pepper. Add a little chopped onion and some butter. Layer carrots on top, then salt and pepper, and chopped onions and butter. Layer peas, salt, pepper, onions and butter. Pour hamburger mixture on top. Pour tomato soup on top of hamburger mixture. Cover and bake. Bake at 400 degrees for 1 1/2 hours and then at 350 degrees for 1/2 hour. Serves 10.
