HOME MADE CHOCOLATES | |
1 lb. butter 1 lg. chocolate pudding mix (not instant) 1/2 c. milk 1 lb. powdered sugar 1 tsp. vanilla 1 c. chopped walnuts Dipping chocolate (candy making), melted Melt butter, add pudding mix and stir until smooth. Gradually add milk and cook until mixture pulls away from the sides of the pan. Remove from the heat and stir in the powdered sugar and vanilla. Add the walnuts last. Allow to cool in refrigerator and then roll (in hands) into desired size (walnut size for individuals) or much larger for Easter Eggs. Prepare cookie sheet with waxed paper. At this time I process some additional walnuts until they are finely chopped and place them in a bowl into which I firmly press the bottoms of the chocolates before dipping them into the chocolate and placing them on the cookie sheet. Refrigerate until chocolate hardens and decorate if desired. They keep for a week or so easily in the refrigerator and make marvelous tasting chocolates. Children of all ages love them! |
