VANILLA CREAM PIE 
9 inch pastry shell
2/3 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
2 1/2 tbsp. cornstarch
1 tbsp. flour
3 c. milk
3 egg yolks, beaten
1 tbsp. butter
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla

Mix together all dry ingredients; stir in gradually milk. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly until mixture thickens and boils. Boil 1 minute. Remove from heat. Slowly stir half the mixture into beaten egg yolks. Return and blend into mixture in saucepan. Boil 1 minute more, stirring constantly. Remove from heat; blend in butter and vanilla. Cool and pour into baked pie shell. Top with meringue or whipped cream.
