CHOCOLATE-ALMOND-COCONUT BARS | |
1 c. flour 1/2 c. brown sugar 1/4 c. butter, softened 3/4 c. coconut, flaked 1 (14 oz.) can sweetened condensed milk 1/2 c. whole blanched almonds 1 c. chocolate chips 1/2 tsp. vanilla In a small bowl, combine flour, brown sugar and butter; mix at medium speed until fine crumbs form. Press in bottom of a greased 9-inch square or 11x7-inch baking pan. In same bowl, combine coconut and 3/4 cup condensed milk; spoon and spread over crust. Place almonds evenly over coconut mixture. Bake in a preheated 350°F oven for 20 to 25 minutes or until light golden brown. Cool 10 minutes. In small saucepan, blend remaining milk and chocolate chips; stir over low heat until chocolate melts. Add vanilla. Spread over warm bars. Chill until firm. Cut into 36 bars. |
