Peel and slice 4 medium sweet potatoes. Wash and drain sweet potatoes. Boil sweet potatoes until tender. Place favorite pie crust in rectangle pan. Place a layer of boiled sweet potatoes and sprinkle sugar, nutmeg and butter to taste and add vanilla flavoring.
Place another layer of crust and sweet potatoes, butter, sugar and nutmeg to taste. Pour enough milk to cover mixture. Put top solid crust or strips may be used. If solid crust is used, prick top with a fork. Cook around 350-375 degrees in oven until crust is brown. Center crust can be left out.
