GRACE'S AMISH COOKIES 
1 c. white sugar
1 c. powdered sugar
1 c. butter, softened
1 c. salad oil
2 eggs beaten
1 tsp. cream of tartar
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla or almond extract
4 c. + 4 tbsp. flour

Mix first 5 ingredients, then add the rest. Chill dough. I use the large end of a melon baller, dipped in sugar, to drop on cookie sheets. Flatten with a flat bottomed glass dipped in sugar. Bake at 370 degrees for about 10 minutes.
