CHOCOLATE TAFFY 
2 sq. unsweetened baking chocolate
2 c. light corn syrup
2 tbsp. butter
Pinch of salt
1 tsp. vanilla

Cook the chocolate and syrup until a small amount dripped from a spoon forms a thread into a cup of cold water and cracks when tested between fingers. Remove from burner and add butter, salt and vanilla. Spread on one or more buttered plates or platter.

When cool enough to handle, pull vigorously for several minutes until it is a lighter brown and becomes too stiff to continue to pull. Form into a rope-like shape on a large bread board or similar surface and using kitchen shears, snip into convenient size pieces (approximately 1 inch).
