SALT WATER TAFFY 
1 c. Red Label Karo
3/4 c. water
2 c. granulated sugar
1 tbsp. cornstarch
1/2 tbsp. butter
3/4 tbsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla

Combine sugar, cornstarch, salt and butter. Add Karo and water. Stir until mixture boils rapidly. Boil to 252 degrees or until a little when tried in cold water forms a fairly hard ball. Flavor, pour onto a large buttered platter and when cool enough to handle, butter the hands, and pull into a rope until rope turns a lighter color, then cut into inch lengths. Next day wrap and twist in wax paper.
