SALT WATER TAFFY 
1 1/2 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. corn syrup
4 tbsp. butter
1/2 c. water
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. glycerine
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla

Put brown sugar, butter and water in deep saucepan. Stir over meat, heat until mixture forms a hard ball when dropped in cold water. Then add salt and glycerine and pour into well-buttered platter. Let cool and then pull until light in color. Cut into small pieces.
