SMOKED SAUSAGE TACO CASSEROLE 
1/2 c. chopped onions
1 tbsp. butter
2 tbsp. flour
1 can (8 oz.) tomato sauce
1/2 c. water
1 env. taco seasoning mix
1 lb. smoked or Polish sausage, thinly sliced
2 c. corn chips
1/2 c. or 2 oz. shredded cheddar cheese
3/4 c. shredded lettuce

Cook onions in butter until tender. Blend in flour. Gradually add tomato sauce, water and taco seasoning mix. Stir until smooth. Cook, stirring constantly until thickened. Stir in sausage. Spoon into greased oven-proof glass 1 1/2 quart casserole dish.

Bake at 350 degrees for 15 to 20 minutes. Remove from oven and cover with corn chips and then sprinkle with cheese. Continue baking until cheese melts (about 1 minute). Sprinkle lettuce around edge of casserole. Serve immediately. Serves 6.
