BEEF TERIYAKI 
Sirloin tip roast or flank steak
1 clove crushed garlic
1 tsp. grated fresh ginger, NOT powdered
1 tbsp. sugar
1/2 c. soy sauce
4 tbsp. mirin, do not substitute

While partially frozen, thinly slice the meat into strips. Combine a marinade of garlic, fresh ginger, sugar, soy sauce, and mirin. Marinate the meat, turning occasionally, for at least 45 minutes.

Broil meat. Serve over with white rice with the juice from the bottom of the broiler pan. This is also good with toasted seaweed, dunked in sauce, and eaten with a spoonful of plain white rice.

Mirin and many other oriental ingredients can be purchased in the oriental section of your grocery.
