GREEN BEANS WITH ALMONDS 
salt
freshly ground black pepper
1 pound green beans
3 cloves garlic
¼ cup slivered almonds
2 tablespoons butter

Heat a large pan of water to a boil. Add 1 tablespoon of salt to boiling water. Add beans and boil until tender, about 5 minutes. Drain; rinse with cold water.

Melt butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Add sliced garlic and beans; salt and pepper to taste. Sauté, stirring often, about 2 minutes.

Add almonds; stir until beans are heated through, another 1 to 2 minutes.
