GRANDMA'S CHILI SOUP | |
1 lb. ground beef 1 lg. can crushed tomatoes 2 lg. cans kidney beans 3 stalks celery 4 green peppers 1 lg. onion Chili powder to taste Salt and peppers to taste Chop onions, celery, green pepper into small pieces and saute until soft in a little oil. Add crushed tomatoes to veggies; cook on low about 15 minutes. Add kidney beans and at least 2 or 3 cans of water; stir well. Add chili powder; cook about an hour, stirring often, on low-medium heat. Brown beef, breaking in pieces; drain grease from meat and add to soup. Cook about 10 minutes longer. Add salt, pepper and more chili powder to taste. The hotter the better! Makes enough to feed a small army. |
