FRUIT LOVER'S POPS | |
"Tastes better than the kind you buy at the store, " Dennis, our kid-tester, told us. EQUIPMENT: Measuring cups 10 (3 oz.) paper cups 13x9x2 inch baking pan Medium saucepan Wooden spoon Can opener Kitchen scissors Ruler Foil Sharp knife 10 wooden sticks INGREDIENTS: 1 (3 oz.) pkg. fruit flavored gelatin (any flavor) 1 c. water 1 (6 oz.) can frozen apple, orange, or pineapple juice concentrate 1 c. cold water 1. Put the paper cups in the baking pan. Save until Step 4. 2. In the medium saucepan combine the fruit flavored gelatin and 1 cup water. Put the saucepan on a burner. Turn the burner to high. Cook and stir with the wooden spoon until the mixture is bubbly. Turn off the burner. Remove the saucepan from the burner. 3. Add the frozen fruit juice concentrate. Stir with the wooden spoon until the juice concentrate is melted. Stir in 1 cup cold water. 4. Pour the juice mixture into the liquid measuring cup. Then, pour the juice mixture into the paper cups. Using the scissors and the ruler, cut ten 4 inch squares from the foil. Carefully cover each paper cup with a foil square. Use the knife to make a slit in the center of each foil top. Push a wooden stick through the hole into the juice mixture. Put the pops in the freezer. Freeze about 6 hours or until firm. 5. To serve, remove the desired number of pops from the freezer. Let stand at room temperature about 5 minutes. Peel off the foil and the paper cups. Makes 10. |
