RICE CASSEROLE (JOHN'S WORLD
FAMOUS)
 
1 can Campbell's French onion soup
1 can Campbell's beef broth
3/4 c. regular uncooked rice
1/2 stick butter
Parsley flakes
Slivered almonds or sliced mushrooms, drained, or sliced water chestnuts, drained
Pam or Mazola no stick

Spray 1 quart deep casserole with No Stick. Put in rice soups and butter. Sprinkle top with parsley flakes. Add slivered almonds mushrooms or water chestnuts. (I use a small can of mushrooms or water chestnuts or about 2 1/2 oz. almonds.) Cover casserole.

Microwave 25 minutes at high. Or in a conventional oven, bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour.

Since conventional and microwave oven vary, cooking time can vary, after above times check to see if all liquids are absorbed. It could take an additional 15 minutes in conventional or 5-7 minutes in microwave. This recipe is easily doubled.

Since microwave ovens vary in power, you may need to adjust your cooking time.
