PIROHI | |
1 stick butter 3/4 c. water 3 c. flour 1 egg 1/2 tsp. salt Warm butter and water until butter melts. Mix all the above together to make a dough. Make into small balls, set bowl on top of balls to rest for 15 minutes. Roll one at a time. Cut into squares and fill. POTATO FILLING: Peel, cut, boil potatoes until tender. (Cut some sharp cheese very thin.) Drain potatoes; add cheese while still hot. Mash. Cool and fill pirohi. Boil water with salt and when water is boiling place pirohi in. When it comes to a boil again, turn heat off; let set 15 to 20 minutes, covered. Drain. Brown butter and onions and pour over pirohi. |
