PEANUT BRITTLE 
2 c. sugar
1 c. white Karo
1/2 c. water
2 c. raw peanuts
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. baking soda

Put sugar, Karo and water in large heavy pans to allow for frothing when soda is added later. Use a candy thermometer and cook syrup mixture to "crack." Then add peanuts and stir continuously until peanuts stir in easily -- about 1-2 minutes. Remove from heat, add vanilla and stir in. Then add soda and stir well. Pour into large shallow buttered pan to cool. When cold, break into pieces.
