APPLE COBBLER PIE FILLING | |
4 1/2 c. sugar 1 c. cornstarch 1/4 tsp. nutmeg 2 tsp. cinnamon 1 tsp. salt 3 tbsp. lemon juice 2-3 drops yellow food coloring 1-7 lb. tart apples, cored and sliced In a large kettle, blend the first 5 ingredients. Stir in 10 cups of water. Cook and stir until thick and bubbly. Add lemon juice and food coloring. Pack raw apples in jars and fill with hot syrup. Process in hot water bath for 20 minutes. Makes 6 quarts. |
