1 c. shortening
2 c. sugar
3 eggs, beaten
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. sour cream
5 c. flour, sift before measuring
3 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. baking soda

Cream shortening with sugar. Add eggs, vanilla and sour cream; mix well. Sift together flour, baking powder, salt and baking soda. Add to creamed mixture. Mix thoroughly. Drop from teaspoon onto greased cookie sheet. Grease bottom of glass, dip into mixture of 1 teaspoon cinnamon and 3 tablespoons sugar, press cookie flat. Cookies can also be rolled into small (walnut size) balls and rolled in sugar mixture. Bake at 350 degrees for 10 to 15 minutes. Bake only until slightly browned on bottom. Makes approximately 6 dozen small cookies. Do not over bake.
