PUMPKIN MINTS 
1 stick butter, at room temp.
1 tbsp. evaporated milk
1 box confectioners' sugar, sifted
1 tsp. (about) peppermint flavoring
Red and yellow food coloring
Whole cloves

Soften butter with fingertips in mixing bowl. Add milk; mix. Add sugar gradually; mix well. Add flavoring. Add enough red and yellow coloring to make pumpkin color. Pinch off small pieces; roll into marble-sized balls. Make pumpkin grooves with round toothpick. Place on waxed paper on cookie sheet, flattening bottoms. Stick 1 clove into each pumpkin, nail side up. Chill. Yield: 40-50 pumpkins.
