BREAD AND BUTTER PICKLES 
2 qt. sliced cucumbers
6 onions, sliced
2 red peppers, chopped
2 c. brown sugar
2 c. vinegar
2 tsp. celery seed
1/2 tsp. turmeric
2 tbsp. horseradish
1/2 c. salt

Combine cucumbers, salt and onion and let stand 3 hours. Drain and rinse with cold water. Add other ingredients and simmer 15 minutes. Place in hot jars and seal.
