BREAD & BUTTER PICKLES 
2 qts. cukes, sliced thin
8 whole onions
1/2 c. "coarse" salt
5 c. sugar
5 c. cider vinegar
2 tsp. mustard seed
1 tsp. turmeric (or more)
1 tsp. celery seed

Slice cukes and onions. Stand overnight; drain. Bring vinegar to a boil. Lower heat. Heat cukes. Add together. Jar (sterilized). Refrigerate or cool place. Wonderful taste. May also use zucchini. Very nice.
