SWEDISH HEIRLOOM COOKIES 
1 c. shortening (1/2 butter for flavor)
1 c. confectioners sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
1 1/4 c. almonds, ground
2 c. sifted flour
1 tbsp. water
1 tbsp. vanilla

Cream shortening, sugar, and salt well. Add almonds. Blend in flour, mix thoroughly. Add water and vanilla. Mix thoroughly with fork.

Shape into balls using 1 level tablespoon of dough. Flatten slightly. Bake at 325 degrees for 12-15 minutes.

Roll in confectioners sugar while still warm.
