QUICKEST FLUFFY FROSTING 
1 1/2 c. granulated sugar
2 egg whites
5 tbsp. water
2 tsp. light corn syrup
1/4 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla extract
Food coloring, optional

Combine sugar, egg whites, water, corn syrup and salt in top of double boiler; stir until blended. Place over simmering water. Beat with rotary beater until frosting stands in peaks (about 7 minutes or with electric beater, about 5). Remove from heat. Add extract and tint with food coloring. If necessary, continue beating until desired spreading consistency is reached. Yield: frosting for two 9 inch round layers or one 9 x 13 inch loaf.
