WELSH COOKIES 
3 c. flour
1/2 c. vegetable shortening
2 tbsp. butter
1 c. sugar
2 eggs
1/2 c. milk
1/2 lb. raisins
2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. nutmeg

Sift together dry ingredients. Cut in shortening and butter. Add beaten eggs mixed with milk and raisins. Roll out on pastry cloth to 1/4 inch thickness. Cut with round cookie cutter. Bake as directed on griddle. Turn and bake other side until a delicate brown. I set griddle to 350 degrees.
